Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, has again made the nation proud by winning the 2024 African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON). In a thrilling final held in Cairo, Egypt, the Black Challenge came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over Morocco, cementing their position as champions for the second consecutive tournament, having also won in 2021.
This back-to-back triumph highlights the team’s resilience and exceptional talent, earning them admiration and support from fans and stakeholders.
The team’s success has been strengthened by the generous support of Twellium Industrial Company Limited, which donated GHC75,000 to help cover their expenses. This substantial contribution emphasizes Twellium’s support for sports and athletes in Ghana. The team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Twellium, emphasizing this support’s crucial role in their journey to victory.
The Black Challenge has also called on other institutions, including the government, to follow Twellium’s example and support the team. The players have assured Twellium’s management that they will visit the company upon their return to Ghana to present the trophy and personally extend their appreciation.
Twellium Industrial Company, under its Twellium Foundation Verna Changing Lives initiative, continues to set the standard for corporate social responsibility in Ghana’s manufacturing sector. Recently, the company donated incubators and phototherapy equipment to health facilities, addressing critical healthcare needs for newborns. Additionally, Twellium covered a $7,000 surgery fee for Rhoda Akorfa Senyegbe, a heart patient, ensuring she received the necessary medical treatment.
These acts of generosity have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention and admiration of many Ghanaians. Twellium’s consistent efforts to improve lives and support various causes solidify its position as the best in giving back to society.
Twellium Industrial Company Limited remains a leader in corporate social responsibility, demonstrating that businesses can play a vital role in fostering positive change and supporting national pride.
