Edmond Kombat is the Founder and Chairman of the Edkom Group of Companies, comprising Oyster Agribusiness Ltd, Citi Energy Ltd, Monip Estates, and Kasi Precious Minerals. Under his leadership, Oyster Agribusiness has raised over $3 million, transforming the lives of more than 4,500 farmers by cultivating over 20,000 acres of farmland. The company has supplied over 25,000 tons of farm produce and disbursed over GHS 60 million to smallholder farmers across six regions in Ghana, with operations extending to Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Togo.
As a dynamic entrepreneur, Edmond has successfully established and managed diverse businesses spanning Agribusiness, Real Estate, and Energy Services, all under the Edkom Group umbrella.
Edmond is also Partner at Bidzakin Kombat Law Firm, where he combines his legal expertise with his entrepreneurial acumen to provide strategic legal solutions.
In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Edmond is the Co-Founder and Director of Research and Finance at the Institute for Energy Security (IES), Ghana, where he champions clean energy solutions. His professional background includes roles such as Financial Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London and Premium Bank in Accra. He has also served as a Business Analyst for the Ministry of Energy and Special Assistant to the CEOs of Tema Oil Refinery and Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST). Furthermore, Edmond was Head of Risk & Compliance at Convenio Energy Pty in South Africa.
Recognized for his contributions to the energy sector, Edmond was selected by the German government to study Germany’s Energy Transition Program in Berlin, focusing on its Green Hydrogen Policy. Representing West and Central Africa, he collaborated with participants from South Africa, Namibia, India, the USA, and European countries.
Edmond holds a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honors) from the University of Ghana, where he served as SRC President and launched the SRC Yi Bi Boa Scholarship, which has benefited over 7,000 students. He also holds an LL.B from the GIMPA Faculty of Law, a BL from the Ghana School of Law, and has completed the Securities Industry Course at the Ghana Stock Exchange.
A graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Edmond earned a Master in Public Administration (MPA) as an Edward S. Mason Fellow, serving as Co-Chair of the Africa Caucus during his time at Harvard.
A licensed stockbroker with the Ghana Stock Exchange and a member of the Ghana Bar Association, Edmond is authorized to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
Currently, Edmond chairs the Africa Society Initiative (ASI) and serves as a patron for the Universal Christ Mission (UCM), a Christian charity organization, where he continues to champion transformative initiatives across various sectors.
