MoMo Unveils All-in-One Financial App at Digifest 2025

At this year’s Digifest 2025, MTN Mobile Money Limited (MoMo) showcased a groundbreaking app designed to revolutionize payments and financial services for businesses and individuals. The announcement was made by Sylvia Otuo-Acheampong, Head of Product and Services at MoMo Ltd, who underscored the company’s mission to drive financial inclusion and innovation across Ghana.

The new MoMo app is designed to support small, medium, and large enterprises, providing a single solution that consolidates payments and financial services. “This app is developed for entrepreneurs who don’t want to be left behind,” Otuo-Acheampong said. “With just a smartphone and the app, you can access a whole world of new and innovative solutions.” The app enables businesses to receive multiple forms of payments—including QR codes, payment links, and in-app payments—all in one consolidated system, removing the hassle of managing different platforms.

She explained that the app was created through a collaborative ecosystem involving MTN, clients, and other technology partners. “Every entrant is trying to do their own thing. But in harmony with MTN, everyone can focus on their strengths. What we do is bring all of these services together,” she said.

One of the standout features is that the app is zero-rated, requiring no data bundle to use. “All you need to do is charge your phone and do business. The app is simple, lightweight, and can be used on both smartphones and laptops,” Otuo-Acheampong assured the audience at Digifest.

The MoMo app also goes beyond facilitating payments, offering businesses access to loans, credit, and insurance services. Of particular note is a new SME loan product, currently in its testing phase, which provides larger loan amounts tailored specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises. “For many SMEs, consumer loans are simply not enough. Our SME loan has been designed to give them the capacity to expand and operate more effectively,” she said.

Closing her address, Otuo-Acheampong reaffirmed MoMo’s role in fostering digital transformation in Ghana. “Innovation is what we do, and innovation is what we will continue to do—to empower businesses and individuals alike,” she added, thanking the MoMo team for their work in bringing the app to life.

With the showcase of the MoMo app at Digifest 2025, MTN is cementing its role as a leader in digital and financial innovation, creating a powerful tool that empowers entrepreneurs, strengthens businesses, and expands financial inclusion across the country.
