The Global Outreach Consortium (GOC), a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare support to underprivileged communities, proudly announces the successful completion of its flagship Bisayen Behavioural Change Communication Campaign focused on breast cancer awareness and education.

Led by Dr. Priscilla Vandyck-Sey, Executive Director of Global Outreach Consortium, the campaign — known as Bisayen! Ask Us! & Touch Us! — has made significant strides in disseminating vital information, combating stigma, promoting early detection, and fostering meaningful interactions among breast cancer survivors, health facilities, and the general public.
Over the course of the campaign, GOC reached thousands of individuals across three key regions: Greater Accra, Ashanti, and Northern Region. Through community outreaches, educational workshops, survivor engagement sessions, health facility collaborations, and targeted behavioral change communication activities, the initiative addressed critical gaps in breast cancer knowledge and encouraged proactive health-seeking behaviors.
Key achievements of the Bisayen Campaign include:
– Widespread dissemination of accurate information on breast cancer risks, symptoms, early detection methods (including breast self-examination and clinical screening), and treatment options.
– Direct engagement with breast cancer survivors who shared inspiring stories of resilience, helping to reduce stigma and empower others facing similar journeys.
– Strengthened partnerships with health facilities, enabling improved referral pathways and access to care for early detection and management.
– Broad public sensitization efforts that promoted open conversations — encouraging individuals to “ask us” and “touch us” (perform self-examinations) — to break cultural barriers surrounding breast health.
Dr. Priscilla Vandyck-Sey, Executive Director of Global Outreach Consortium, expressed profound gratitude for the campaign’s impact:
“Breast cancer remains one of the most significant health threats to women in Ghana, often diagnosed at advanced stages due to limited awareness and prevailing myths. Through Bisayen, we have witnessed transformative change — empowered communities, engaged survivors, and health workers better equipped to support early detection. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved together and remain committed to sustaining this momentum in the fight against breast cancer.”
The completion of this mandate marks a major milestone for GOC in its ongoing mission to deliver holistic healthcare solutions to underserved populations. While the formal campaign has concluded, the organization will continue to build on its success through follow-up activities, survivor support networks, and advocacy for improved breast cancer services across the country.
Global Outreach Consortium extends sincere thanks to all partners, donors, volunteers, survivors, community leaders, and health professionals who contributed to the campaign’s outstanding success.
