Building on a model that has trained more than 3,000 young professionals and created over 500 direct jobs, AmaliTech has partnered with the University of Ghana and Valley View University to strengthen pathways from education to employment. The partnerships bridge the gap between academia and industry, giving students practical industry exposure, mentorship, internships, National Service placements, and graduate recruitment pathways into the digital economy.

Why this partnership matters now
As demand for skilled technology professionals grows, closer collaboration between universities and industry is essential to ensure graduates leave with the skills, experience, and professional networks the workforce now requires.
AmaliTech was represented by Matthew Darkwa, Vice President of Operations, Richard Harry Botchway, Head of Recruitment, and Sharon Tracy Phanos, Recruitment Lead.
Speaking to faculty members and signatories, Darkwa said:
“Ghana has incredible talent. The opportunity before us is to ensure that more young people can translate that talent into meaningful careers. Through this partnership, AmaliTech is working with universities to create clearer pathways for students to gain practical experience, build industry-relevant skills, and prepare for success in a globally connected digital economy.”

What students gain
Through these partnerships, students will benefit from mentorship programmes, technical seminars, career development initiatives, internships, National Service placements, and graduate recruitment opportunities. The collaboration will also support coding clubs, innovation challenges, hackathons, and project showcases that build practical problem-solving skills and workplace readiness.
Professor Felix Ankomah Asante, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development at the University of Ghana, welcomed the partnership as an important step toward strengthening industry-academia collaboration and ensuring students graduate with skills that match what the workforce needs. He stated:
“The University of Ghana is committed to equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world. With approximately 70,000 students, and around 60,000 graduates each year, partnerships such as this create valuable opportunities for students to gain industry exposure and help ensure that the skills they develop remain relevant to the needs of today’s job markets.”
Dr. Samuel Kwame Amankwah, Registrar of Valley View University, expressed the University’s commitment to the collaboration, stating,
“The world has changed in the 21st century. Whatever you know is not final. There are new developments every day. At Valley View University, we welcome everyone so that we can grow together. The responsibility is on us to bring students together to drive meaningful change.”
AmaliTech brings extensive experience in technology talent development across Ghana and Rwanda. Through its training and employment programmes, it has built digital skills among young people and connected talent with local and international markets, experience that positions it to help universities prepare graduates for evolving industry demands.
Beyond technical training, the partnerships will expose students to emerging technologies, professional best practices, and real-world business challenges. Through guest lectures, career talks, and industry engagement activities, students will gain insight into the expectations of modern workplaces and the skills required to succeed.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment by academia and industry to invest in Ghana’s future workforce. By connecting education more closely with employment opportunities, the partnerships are expected to contribute to economic growth, strengthen the country’s technology ecosystem, and create opportunities for the next generation of digital professionals.
