In a bid to contribute her quota to society, Ayisha Yakubu has officially launched her LAY Foundation. The event which was held over the past weekend on Saturday 20th February 2021 saw in attendance various stake holders and some of her colleagues from Media General.
The LABARAN ADARGO YAKUBU Foundation, shortened as The LAY Foundation is a non-governmental organisation with the aim of assisting persons in groups considered vulnerable like widows, orphans and needy children.
The foundation named after the TV and radio journalist’s late father is set to provide not only financial and material assistance to the aforementioned groups, but to provide emotional and familial support to them as well.
Ayisha Yakubu is a well known and award-winning Tv and radio journalist who currently works with Media General and functions as the anchor and face of the news show News 360 on TV3. After winning the TV Discovery of the Year at 2019 RTP Awards, Ayisha has continued to capture the attention of viewers with her good looks, fluency and brilliant inputs on topical news issues.
In her radio interviews leading up to the official launch of The LAY Foundation, Ayisha solicited assistance from individuals and corporate entities who would be interested in being of help to the less privileged in the society.
In a celebratory post on Instagram, Ayisha stated that establishing such an organisation has always been her dream, and continued to thank everyone that contributed to the successful establishment of the organisation all the while asking for support through the propagation of her cause.
Her move to establish her organisation has since been lauded by her colleagues and social media users, with many of them urging her to do more and showering her with praises and gratitude.
