Nigerian musician Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popular known as Burna Boy was, at the 2021 BET Awards, crowned winner of the Best International Act category.
This makes it the third consecutive year the Grammy winner has won this award. In the same category with him were Wizkid from Nigeria, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, Youssoupha and Aya Nakamura, both from France, Emicida from Brazil, Headie One and Young T & Bugsey, from the UK.

Accepting his award, he thanked his mother, calling her “the most beautiful woman in the world”. The news has been greeted with a lot of excitement on social media, with fans congratulating him and urging him towards greater heights.

This win makes Burna Boy the first African act to win 3 BET awards, and the first to African artist to win the same category three years in a row. He now has 1 Grammy, 3 BET Awards, 1 MTV Europe Music Award, 1 MOBO Award and 1 Edison Award. He has 3 Brit Award nominations.
