First Edition of Matriculation at I.T. for Youth Ghana Foundation Empowers Youth Through Free I.T. Training

In a groundbreaking move towards empowering the youth, the visionary Peter Duodu established the I.T. for Youth Ghana Foundation as a Free I.T. Training Institute. The foundation is committed to providing free I.T. training and other career empowerment programs, with a particular focus on vulnerable youth, including recent SHS graduates, women, people with disabilities, and students facing financial difficulties.

The school’s curriculum encompasses a range of practical skills, offering free I.T. training in:

  1. Secretaryship and Management
  2. Graphic Design
  3. Video Editing and Animation
  4. Social Media Marketing
  5. Website Design
  6. Printing Technology

Programs are thoughtfully designed in two cohorts to cater to the diverse needs of the youth:

  1. Six months of training with a two-month internship and certification.
  2. Two months of training with certification.

The foundation firmly believes that every young person, regardless of their financial background, societal status, gender, or disabilities, deserves the opportunity to participate in the digital world and build a brighter future.

“As the proverb goes, if you give a person a fish, they will always come back for more. But if you teach a person how to fish, they will multiply and teach others,” states the foundation.

The inaugural matriculation ceremony marked a phenomenal start to the academic journey for all students. The foundation extends a warm welcome to its students and wishes them the very best.

Operating primarily on support from individuals and organizations, the school seeks continuous assistance, whether in the form of financial contributions or in-kind donations such as computers, laptops, projectors, cameras, furniture, teaching and learning accessories, and operational support.

The foundation invites all interested parties to join hands in creating a better future for vulnerable youth and enhancing digital inclusion. Together, through empowerment in the job market and entrepreneurship, the I.T. for Youth Ghana Foundation aims to contribute to the reduction of unemployment, teenage pregnancies, street children, and other social issues.
