Zakiya Ahmed Crowned As Miss Malaika ’22

After 13 weeks of friendly competition, Zakiya Ahmed was crowned queen and winner of the Emerald season of Miss Malaika 2022, with Yayra and Becky coming in first and second place, respectively.

Zakiya Ahmed is a psychology student at the University of Ghana, Legon and a style influencer. She is the first Muslim to be crowned Miss Malaika. She defeated nine other contestants in the grand finale and homecoming celebration to win the prestigious crown.

The grand finale of Miss Malaika was held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) Grand Arena.

Miss Malaika Ghana is the most prestigious and recognized beauty pageant, founded in 2002 by Charterhouse. The pageant has produced many well-groomed and well-placed queens in various industries, including health, technology, finance, petroleum, construction, agriculture, broadcasting, tourism, and others. The pageant has produced many celebrities including Berla Mundi, Naa Ashorkor, and Regina Van Helvet among others.

The climax of this year’s edition of Miss Malaika, the Emerald Season, was an exciting show, with all past Queens and delegates gracing the event in celebration of 20 years of unearthing talents, nurturing beauty, grooming ladies, and giving back to society, as well as a cake cutting commemorating the pageant’s journey thus far, its achievements, and contributions at large.
