Paolita Abena Ampadu, a young Ghanaian woman has graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with flying colours.

Paolita, a mother of three young children, is a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology from where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. From there, she went to the Paris Graduate School of Management to pursue an international executive MBA in Project Management.

In 2014, Paolita went back to school to pursue law by enrolling in the Bachelor of Laws – LLB program of Mountcrest University College in Accra. Now, she has graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with an Insurance Law LLM and a second LLM in US Legal Studies with an additional graduate certificate in Financial Services Regulation.

Sharing the news on her LinkedIn, Paolita shared a photo from her graduation with the following caption:

I made it as a first generation law graduate! Yesterday I graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law with an Insurance Law LLM and a second LLM in US Legal Studies with an additional graduate certificate in Financial Services Regulation.

I am also honored that the school  awarded me with the 2022 UConn law international award. For what it’s worth, I have also won 2 CALI awards for the highest scoring student in Healthcare Liability Insurance and US law and Legal Institutions.

Looking back, I am not sure how I managed to juggle everything together as President of the International students association (CAIL), LLM representative of the Student Bar Association and a Teaching Assistant in the Spring of 2022. To say the least, it has all been such a rewarding experience.

As a new immigrant and mother of three (2 under 3yrs) this means a whole lot to me! I am grateful to everyone who has supported me on this journey.”

Finally, she has achieved her dreams of becoming a lawyer. Her post has since been met with congratulations and well wishes.
