Once in a while, we come across people who are switching careers for one reason or another. It could be in the pursuit of fulfilment, goals, growth or just the need for a new experience . Whatever the reason may be, the bold decision to go through with it will always be something to admire.
Chetanna Okwaraji, a young black woman living in the United States of America recently shared the news of a career change from a navy officer to the world of pharmacy.
Chetanna, originally from Nigeria, trained to be a Petty Officer Second Class in the US navy, serving from 2013 to 2017. She studied mathematics at the United States Naval Academy before making the decision to enrol at St John’s University to study pharmacy. Sharing the news on LinkedIn, this is what Chetanna had to say:
“Transitioning from the U.S. Navy to Pharmacy school has been nothing short of miracle. I am so grateful to God for the opportunity to serve my country 🇺🇸 and how far I have come in my career. Excited to see what the future holds for me.”
Chetanna is currently a Clinical Pharmacy intern at the Mount Sinai hospital. Before that, she interned with Park West Pharmacy.
