Edward Asare & Ameyaw Debrah Speak On Harnessing Social Media At Ashesi University

In today’s digital world, the reach of the internet is spreading wider by the minute. In the recorded history of mankind, this is the first time everyone is completely connected from person to person and from culture to culture at the same time. This is due to the invention of the internet, giving this century the nickname “Digital Age”.

As the internet grows in popularity, so fades away traditional media for the dissemination of information. Almost every smartphone or computer user is connected and registered to one social media platform or the other. Social media platforms like Facebook, twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tiktok, WhatsApp among others abound, and new ones keep being invented every other day.

This has created a disruption in areas like marketing, communication, finance and even the corporate and professional world. New positions like Social Media Manager, Digital Marketer and a few others have been created to accommodate this paradigm shift. But as a social media user, is there a way for you to make a living out of what has become an indispensable part of our everyday lives? What are some of the good things you can use social media for?

Award-winning digital marketing Edward Asare was featured alongside blogger Amenyaw Debrah to speak on the title “Social media for good and how to make money from social media” by Ashesi Design Lab, an initiative of Ashesi University, one of the top ranked universities in Africa.

The program held on the 29th of September 2021 via zoom and was attended by students of Ashesi University who wanted to broaden their knowledge on using social media for good and also to make a living.

Affirming his current standing as one of the fastest-rising digital influencers in the Ghanaian media space, Edward Asare shared important titbits with patrons of the webinar on how to successfully harness the power of social media for good and for financial gain.
