Kwame Ahenkora Antwi Wins The Annual UBA Foundation National Essay Competition

Kwame Ahenkorah Antwi, a student of the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School – Legon has emerged winner of the 2020 edition of the annual UBA Foundation National Essay Competition .

The competition which was opened to senior high school students across the country early on in 2020 has finally come to an end, with Kwame Ahenkorah Antwi emerging as overall winner, walking away with a cash prize of $5000, a trophy and a laptop.

Entries from students across the length and breadth of the country were received and sifted to the final 10. This list included students from Wesley Girls Senior High, Archbishop Porter Girls, Labone Senior High, Presbyterian Boys Senior High and Mfantsipim School.

In the end, Kwame Ahenkorah Antwi emerged overall winner, with Adonoo Gracious Dzilorli also of Presbyterian Boys Senior High coming in as first runner up and winning a cash prize of $3000, a plaque and a laptop. Richmond Ayiku Lartey of Labone Senior High School also emerged 2nd runner up, winning a cash prize of $2000, a plaque and a laptop.

The annual UBA Foundation National Essay Competition is an initiative of the banking giant to encourage and nurture the habit of reading and writing in the youth of Ghana by providing opportunities for their writings to be rewarded and their opinions to be heard.

Later this year, another edition of the competition is expected to be opened to students of senior high schools across the country.
