Vivian Yakpo Newton, a Ghanaian-American woman has recently graduated with a Doctorate In Education from Nova Southeastern University. What makes her achievement even more remarkable is the fact that she is a single mother of two and is graduating around the same time as her sons.
Mother to Kwame Newton and Kwesi Newton, Vivian got her Bachelor of Arts in Business Education from Polk State College in 2010. After that, she studied for a Masters degree in Counselor Education/ School Counselling and Guidance Services from the Nova Southeastern University from 2013 to 2016. In 2017, she begun her Doctorate in Education and Organisational Leadership at the Nova Southeastern University.
Vivian’s son Kwame Newton graduated from Harvard Law School late last year and last week, her other son Kwesi Newton also graduated from Boston University.
In a post on LinkedIn sharing the news, she posted pictures with the following caption:
“My heart is full! I graduated with my Doctorate In Education from Nova Southeastern University, my oldest son Kwame Newton graduated from Harvard Law School last year and my youngest son Kwesi Newton graduated from Boston University last week. As a single mom, I did not allow being a divorcée to to stop me from raising two sons, setting goals and archiving them!
