The PEC Institute is a Personal, Educational, and Career development project with a primary focus on amplifying the Human Resource potentials of young people in rural communities. They do this by leveraging Educational, Career Mentoring, and Vocational Skills Development initiatives.
The institute has commenced The Before Tertiary Drive series which started with Ada Senior High school.
Dr. Solomon Kusi took the students through oral health education, whiles Miss Mable Darpoh took them through proper menstrual practices, teenage pregnancy and it’s dangers, STIs, personal hygiene, etc
In addition, was a breakout session on tertiary education where the facilitators; Dr Solomon Kusi, Mr Gabriel Teye-Ali, Miss Mable Darpoh and Odamea Amoako took their time to educate the students on the various accredited schools, programme offerings, and cut-off points. The students were also educated on tertiary lifestyles and myths.
They were exposed to some career options.
It is their belief that the drive will help the students make informed decisions on tertiary school selections, programs and also push them to study hard.
After the program, items such as exercise books and personal items including toothbrushes, toothpastes, shaving sticks, and sanitary pads, were shared among the students.
The headmaster in his remarks appreciated the team and encouraged them to extend the project to other schools
The Ada Senior High school edition was sponsored by the CEO of WayaMoney Delali Adiamah
Their next stop will be in the Volta region.
