Ghanaian Afro-Pop Star Gyakie Graduates From KNUST

Famous Ghanaian Afro-pop star Gyakie, born Jackline Acheampong has just shared the news of her graduation from a BSc Business Administration program from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

The 22-year-old singer is an alumna of T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, Kumasi and went on to pursue her undergraduate degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where she reportedly majored in International business.

Born to Ghanaian High Life legend Nana Acheampong, Gyakie showed interest in music by the age of eight. In February 2019, she released her first single titled; “Love is Pretty” which paved way for another single, “Never Like This.” The second song made significant waves on the Ghanaian contemporary music scene and prepped her for success later on.

In August 2020, she released a five-track EP, titled “Seed” featuring her song “Forever”, a song that was her claim to fame landing her airplay and the top spots on charts in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. It topped music charts such Billboard’sTop Triller Global and Shazams Top 200 charts. Gyakie released a remix of “Forever” with Nigerian singer Omah Lay in March 2021.

Gyakie is signed to international label Sony Music entertainment, RCA Records UK and Sony Music Africa.
