Popular Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has, over the weekend been named as one of the featured acts on American DJ/Artist DJ Megan Ryte’s debut album.
The album features big names in the American music industry like Conway the Machine, Westside Gunn, Young M.A, Remy Ma, DJ Premier, and others. This adds Kwesi Arthur to the roster of Ghanaian Hollywood-affiliated artists like M.anifest, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
DJ Megan Ryte’s eponymously titled album is reported to have been three years in the making and has guest assistance from a few of her close affiliates in the industry, Kwesi being one of them. Kwesi features solo on the first track on the line up, produced by award-winning American producer A-Swag.
Born Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior, he also goes by the stage name Son of Jacob. In 2018, he was nominated for Best International Act at the 2018 BET Awards, a category he unfortunately didn’t win. He however won hip-hop song of the year at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards. In 2019, he also won an award for best collaboration at the same event.
Earlier this month, Kwesi Arthur’s hit song “Baajo” on which he featured Nigerian superstar Joeboy was named to be the most streamed song on Spotify Ghana for 2021.
The DJ Megan Ryte album dropped on Friday 16th April 2021 and is available to stream on all digital platforms.
